The West Point Green Wave has their eye on a championship in Jackson this year. Just making it to the playoffs is not enough. With the caliber of players we have, there aren’t too many teams that can beat us. Now I do understand that any team can be beaten on any given night. That’s why it’s of the utmost importance to practice hard and leave personal feelings aside. Personal feelings tend to divide the team. Since the playoffs will be upon us next week, it is imperative that we win this game Friday against a Caledonia team that wants to win their senior night but haven’t won too many games otherwise. We need to keep our division streak alive and also our confidence. One of my friends who attends all of the West Point Green Wave football games brings a Mississippi State Bulldogs cushion and sometimes his Mississippi State Bulldogs gear with him. He told me that if he is going to support a team then he is going to do it comfortably and not by sitting on hard bleachers. The Green Wave will host Vicksburg next Friday if the current playoff bracket holds up even though there is no guarantee of this. All I know is that West Point will have a home game and will be the number one seed, even if we were to lose.
