Coach Les Miles had words with the media before the SEC title game. They were trying to say things on national tv that plainly was not true. They were putting words in his mouth. I was sitting and listening to the very sad interview (sad on the part of the media). Coach Miles said he had a game to play and he was staying at LSU. He did not say how long. I am sure he will be there until after this game for sure. The bottom line is he is wanting to do his job to the best of his ability. In football it is important that he and his team stay as focused as possible on the task at hand. It seems that is what Coach Miles is trying to do. It also seems the media is really trying their best to get him to say something he doesn’t want to. They are trying to make another mess like they did with the situation of Nick Saben when he left Miami to go to Alabama. Football is a game about dedication and commitment. Coaches do their best to keep their players as focused and committed to a program as they can. The bottom line that any coach worth their grits when asked to release a player to go to another school most of the time does not have a problem with it. If the player is really wanting to be somewhere else for whatever reason it is probably needs to go. If a school is wanting to get rid of a coach and they do so prior to his contract being up. The schools do it with out much to do about it. (And they do not have to talk about it prior to the fact) So when a coach because has done a great job has an opportunity to better the situation for his family, the media is going to put words in his mouth. So weather it is better for him to leave or stay and weather he wants to finish the job at hand before he gets involved in the new discussion.
Leave the man along and let him do his job!
The bottom line is LSU is a great place to coach, so is Michigan. Miles is a great coach. Let him do this job then allow him to make a choice of what is best for the Miles family.
