Joe Crawford, 22, just signed with the Los Angeles Lakers. The announcement was made today and the terms of that agreement were not released because it is a team policy.
The Lakers picked Crawford 58th in this year’s NBA Draft. He is from Detroit. He played four years at the University of Kentucky. While there he averaged just over 11 points. He also has over 3 rebounds and under 2 assists per game. He started in 76 games and played in a total of 127 games.
In his last year at the University of Kentucky, he ranked fourth in the SEC scoring under 20 ppg. He received the honors of the Second Team All-SEC. Many coaches in the conferences gave them that honor. He finished his fourth year as the University of Kentucky’s 19th all time scorer. He also ranked seventh all-time in three-point field goals.
This past July Crawford started all six games in Las Vegas for the Lakers Summer League. While at the Summer League games, it was sort of surprising the number of people with Los Angeles Lakers merchandise on. Crawford got his shining moments in front of the Laker faithful crowd. While in Las Vegas, he averaged over 10 ppg. He shot very well from behind the three-point line. He had just under 3 rebounds over 1 assist in just under 33 minutes.
