Garza eyes continued good form for US U-20s

GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala ? The left back problem persists for the US.
Carlos Bocanegra isn’t the answer. Jonathan Bornstein ? fresh off a shocker against Paraguay ? can do no right in the eyes of the collected masses, even when he does (see: World Cup 2010). And Jonathan Spector, nope.
But down in Guatemala, the flank was solidified ? for a night, at least.
Greg Garza, Thomas Rongen’s embattled, frequently maligned, first-choice fullback, had himself a sublime performance against Suriname on Tuesday night during the U-20s’ opening match of the CONCACAF Championship.

DC's Korb excited about debut, upset about loss

WASHIGNTON ? D.C. United rookie defender Chris Korb doesn?t like to lose. That much was clear even a few days after the 23-year-old made his professional debut in a 2-1 defeat at New England.
Starting at the right back for injured regular Jed Zayner, the Akron product looked comfortable in DC?s defense and was glad to get that first pro experience done and dusted.
?It was exciting to get that first game out of the way,? Korb told MLSsoccer.com. ?I wish we would have won. It?s never fun when you lose and I?m pretty competitive, so it wasn?t the best first game.?
