The Florida Gators are the number one football team in the Nation in my opinion. If you want to know why, I can give you details all night on why the Gators are number one. They have the best offense in the country, and already started 2 games this year and winning both of them by a huge spread. With players like Heisman trophy winner Tim Tebow and Percy Harvin, the Gators are not in anyway able to be stopped. Brandon Spikes is listed as one of the nations top linebackers and he just came off of a foot injury. The University Of Florida is amazing. The campus, the education, and the SPORTS! This year, in college football the Gators should be headed to the National Championship. Tebow is looking to win another championship before he leaves. The question is, When will he go pro? After this 2008 season? Or will he wait until his senior year?? The Gators have to many weapons. It’s just to ridiculous. Even with their best tight end out for the season due to a torn acl, they still have a back up for him that is better than any other tight end in the whole entire country. It’s simply amazing.

The gators are ranked 4 right now, they should easily move up to 3 or possibly 2 by the end of September. 229 What is really going to affect the gators from getting to the championship is injuries. They had several injuries in August most to ACL injuries, and to keep them from the national championship, they MUST stay healthy.

Eric Smith, New York Jets safety, was suspended one game by the league for his helmet-to-helmet hit on wide receiver Anquan Boldin of the Arizona Cardinals.
He was fined $50,000 by the NFL for a flagrant violation of the safety rules for players. Boldin couldn’t defend himself when the contact was made.
Boldin was at home because of the incident. This was a day after he was helped off the field because Smith collided with him in their loss at the Jets.
Arizona Cardinals spokesman Mark Dalton said Boldin was fully mobile. He also said he was resting comfortably on Monday evening. The Cardinals had no other comments on Boldin’s condition.
Eric Smith’s helmet-to-helmet contact came when Boldin was in a defenseless position at the time contact was made.
Because of his suspension, Smith will miss the Oct. 12 Cincinnati Bengals game. This comes one week after the New York Jets’ bye week on Oct. 5. Smith has been fined $50,000 and that includes the game check he will lose for the week he is suspended.  Earlier that day, Smith said he would wait to hear from the league before deciding whether to appeal any suspension or fine. New York Jets merchandise will still sell regardless of one of their players getting suspended.

Cullen Jenkins will likely miss the rest of the season because he was injured at Tampa Bay. It would have probably have helped the Packers beat Tampa Bay if he had played the whole game.

Brian Levy, Jenkins’ agent, told many news agencies that Jenkins’ torn a pectoral muscle. That muscle will require surgery. Since he is getting the surgery, the he won’t be able to play this season.

Jenkins was injured as he grabbed Brian Griese, Buccaneers quarterback, when he attempted to sack him during the fourth quarter. He got away from Jenkins and completed the pass. Tampa Bay Buccaneers merchandise is expected to sell regardless of the fact that one of their players was hurt.

Jenkins, the Green Bay Packers defensive end, couldn’t lift his right arm above his shoulder.

“He’s going to need surgery, so he’s going to have to go on injured reserve,” Levy told the Green Bay Press-Gazette. “The timing couldn’t be worse. It’s a big blow, but he’ll come back from this stronger.”

The Packers franchise didn’t comment about Jenkins. No one knows when an announcement will be made. Ted Thompson, the Packers general manager, was unavailable because he was out scouting.

Jenkins was the leader of the Green Bay Packers’ defensive line. This season, he had 2½ sacks, 10 quarterback pressures, a forced fumble and 18 tackles.

Willis McGahee, Baltimore Ravens running back, has a rib injury. It is unknown if he will play in the game against the Titans Sunday. The Ravens fans are sure to bring extra Baltimore Ravens merchandise to the game to support their team.

He got the injury Monday night at the Pittsburgh Steelers game. He only got one yard in his second-half carry. He injured his ribs in the final minutes of the first half. Maybe if he had played the whole game, the Ravens wouldn’t have suffered a heartbreaking 23-20 loss.

“He’s got a rib issue,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Tuesday. “We think he’s going to be OK. We’ll just have to see how the rib goes this week.”

McGahee carried the ball 12 times for 41 yards. He left the game with serious pain and got assistance from trainer Bill Tessendorf.

McGahee left the game after a run up the middle in the second half. He played in the second series of the second half.

“He was in pain,” Harbaugh said. “He wanted to play.”

McGahee anticipates being ready for the undefeated Tennessee Titans. He was the Ravens leading rusher last season with 1,207 yards and seven touchdowns.

“I got a little injury, but I’ll be all right,” McGahee said. “I took a helmet right on the side. It was real aggravating. From here on out, I’m getting ready for Tennessee.”

The Oakland Raiders got rid of Lane Kiffin Tuesday. He was only four games in his second year. His firing ended a public feud with the owner Al Davis that had been brewing since the beginning of the season. Even though Oakland is an atrocious team year in and year out, Oakland Raiders merchandise still sells.
“I reached a point where I felt that the whole staff were fractionalized, that the best thing to do to get this thing back was to make a change,” Davis said during a lengthy news conference. “It hurts because I picked the guy. I picked the wrong guy.”

Tom Cable was promoted to interim head coach. He was the Raiders offensive line coach.
Lane Kiffin had a dismal 5-15 record in his 20 games since being hired last year. The loss to San Diego 28-18 was the final straw for Al Davis.
Kiffin frequently criticized the Oakland Raiders franchise. Davis removed Kiffin because of his criticisms of the Raiders, not necessarily about how the team played on the field.
Kiffin was coach when the Raiders got blown out in the first game. He separated himself from the defense. He said that the defense was under coordinator Rob Ryan and Davis’ control.
Recently, Davis critiqued several of Kiffin’s coaching decisions. Kiffin was against the Raiders getting JaMarcus Russell as quarterback.

Kurt Warner was the Cardinals’ starting quarterback in the preseason finale against Denver.
Coach Ken Whisenhunt still hasn’t said whether Kurt Warner or Matt Leinart will start against San Francisco in the team’s season opener. Kurt doesn’t even know if he will be the starter or not.
“We all want to know,” Warner said after practice. “For Matt and myself, it’d be nice knowing what the situation would be and be able to move forward with it. The way I look at it more than anything, the sooner it can happen, the sooner we can get past everybody, and you can prepare for the game.
“We know it’s getting close and you get that anxiety and excitement knowing the decision has to be made soon. I am sure coach understands that and he’ll make the decision as soon as it’s necessary.”
Whisenhunt gave a hint on who the starter would be. He said Warner started Friday because of the amount of playtime that Warner and Leinart had in the preseason.
Warner didn’t play in the preseason opener. Leinart took 57 preseason snaps and Warner took 30. There were many people in the stands with Arizona Cardinals merchandise on.
“Hopefully we’ll get in enough snaps with the first offensive line that both can play,” Whisenhunt said. “I just wanted to make sure Kurt gets his timing with the ones for this game, much like we did in Kansas City.”

Most people when they return after having surgery don’t want their own teammates hitting them. Deion Branch had a different approach. He said he needed a physical and mental test to test his reconstructed knee against the Super Bowl defending champions New York Giants this Sunday. The Seahawks expect there to be a lot of Seattle Seahawks merchandise in the stands for the game.

He wanted his teammates to hit him.

“I know it sounds crazy, but I’m going to have the guys do it,” Branch said.

“Yeah, I know, guys are going to be fighting over it once I go in and tell them, ‘Hey, I want to take a couple of blows tomorrow,”‘ Branch said, laughing.

The Seahawks feel pretty good about Branch being back at receiver.

Just a few weeks ago, they signed Koren Robinson and Billy McMullen. They got Keary Colbert from Denver. They got him after they got backup QB Seneca Wallace.

Mike Holmgren, coach of the Seahawks, said Deion will make his debut this weekend when they play at the Giants. Bobby Engram will also make his debut when at the Giants. Engram set the record with 94 catches last year but has not played for seven weeks because he has a broken right shoulder.

Peyton Manning just started his workouts on mechanics, timing, and rhythm. You shouldn’t expect him to show off too much in the Cincinnati Bengals preseason game.

Coach Tony Dungy increased Manning’s workload after he returned to practice. He didn’t show any effects from the knee surgery he recently had.

“We didn’t have him in team work, but he did fine and hasn’t experienced any problems,” Dungy said. “So far, so good. He’ll get a little more work today.”

Peyton has never gone without playing in all of his 10 years in the NFL. Recently he had surgery to remove a sac from his knee.

Colts’ officials first said that Manning would miss about a month. Then, they said he would miss more time. In other words they really didn’t know. Also, the Colts didn’t want to release too much information. It didn’t stop people from asking questions about Manning being hurt worse than first feared. Also, it didn’t stop the speculation about whether his streak of 160 starts would end or not in their first regular season against the Chicago Bears. Whether or not the Colts do well this season, they still expect people to sell the Indianapolis Colts merchandise.
