Orgeron Fired after Egg Bowl won by Character
November 24, 2007 | Leave a Comment
Well after Pete Boone announced his support for the Coach he and Mr Khayat went out and hired after firing one of the best coaches in the schools history (David Cutcliffe) Just because what seemed to be the fact that Coach Cutcliffe wanted to run his own program and not be just puppets of Mr. Boone and Mr Khayat. I know that their will be a long line of fine quality coaches lined up to get a job working for these fine people in Oxford, MS. What quality coach wouldn’t want his family and their well being be in the hands of these quality people in Oxford.
There are a few things that can be gleamed from this situation.
1. Coach Sylvester Croom is a class act and has developed some serious character in the young men in Starkville, MS. This was evident in the voice of the coach after the game and you could see the tears in the mans eyes after the game on Friday afternoon when the Bulldogs came back to defeat the rebels.
2. Although it is far better for the Bulldogs in Starkville if the two geniuses in Oxford keep making the decisions that run the football program in Oxford. It would probably be better for our Brethren in North Mississippi if they would find someone who actually knows something about sports to run their sports program. And also should keep their very bright president or chancellor or what ever they call him out of the athletic department. I am sorry Mr. Orgeron that you had to get mixed up with such shady characters as you have over the past 3 years. Maybe if you are lucky you can get back with a real football program as you came from in USC or possibly the one you quit when you were a youngster leaving LSU.
LSU is out of the National Title Picture

LSU was defeated by the Arkansas Razorbacks in triple overtime Friday November 23rd in Baton Rouge. A battle to be remembered between two of the better teams in the country. I don’t know if the bowl championship series takes into account that some teams have to play in the SEC. Where from top to bottom their are teams that can beat you on any given Saturday (or what ever day they play on) With Vanderbilt and Kentucky getting better and better. There really are no weak sister’s in the SEC. Ole Miss which probably has the worst record in the SEC has played many of the other teams down to the wire. So as you can see even the bottom of the SEC is very tuff. It kinda makes it unfair to have. I think a much better system would be to have the top team from the rest of the country play against the winner of the SEC. This might be the only system to give you a true national champion in football.

West Point at Kosciusko Rematch
November 23, 2007 | Leave a Comment
Well Kosciusko followers would probably call this a revenge game. Well Kosciusko wants to avenge their earlier regular season to West Point. Kosciusko felt they had the game won as the last play of the game ended with a wide-open dropped pass in the end zone, which would have put a blemish on the Green Wave’s perfect district record.
The Green Wave plays at the Whippets Friday. In the past, the Green Wave attendance at away games has been impressive but the last few home games seem to feature the poorest crowds. It probably has something to do with the cold weather. Last year when the Green Wave played at Clarksdale for north state, there was a massive following of fans who made the three-hour trip.
The Whippets seem to think that since they are playing at home this time around, unlike the earlier meeting, will give them the win. As long as the game is fairly refereed then I see this game ending with a score similar to the one in the previous meeting and the Whippets not getting their revenge.
One thing I am sure of and that I will arrive early. Also, I will bring my blankets and I can’t forget my Mississippi State Bulldogs merchandise like cowbells. My football experience wouldn’t be the same. Let’s go Green Wave!!!
Oxford-West Point Rematch!!!
November 16, 2007 | Leave a Comment
Well Friday is here. Today will feature one of the best playoff games in 4A. I know I will be in attendance with my MSU gear in hand. Some people say this Oxford-West Point game is a good matchup. This is the third time in three years that these two teams have met in the playoffs. The previous two times West Point has eliminated Oxford in close games. Oxford vows to change that. Home field advantage is very crucial in every round of the playoffs. Oxford fans think they will win if the game was played on their home turf. West Point fans think they will win the game since it is played on our turf. Either way it goes, both teams have to come with their A game and eliminate turnovers and stupid penalties. You know how the saying goes, “The Third Time’s Charm”. Well West Point fans think the defensive effort of the Green Wave will be enough to beat the Oxford Chargers who do not want to fall victim to West Point in the playoffs for the third consecutive year. West Point has to come out with the same fire power that I’m sure Oxford will come with. Also, we cannot look ahead to a Shannon and Clarksdale rematch. Doing so will alter our focus from the task-at-hand, and that is beating Oxford for the three years straight.

West Point vs. Vicksburg 1st Round Playoff Rematch
November 8, 2007 | Leave a Comment
The West Point Green Wave plays the Vicksburg Gators tomorrow. I remember in 2003 the West Point Green Wave had to travel to Vicksburg for the first round. West Point was the number four seed, while Vicksburg was the number one seed. Now the tables have turned. Number four Vicksburg has to travel to number one West Point. I’m sure Vicksburg is looking for revenge, as they were the hands-down favorite in that game. I’m sure West Point is hungry for another championship after being thumped in the north half game last year. West Point can’t take any opponents lightly. Our motto should be “No excuses, No regrets”. If we play West Point’s style, which is smash mouth football, then there’s not that many teams that can beat us. Even though it’s going to be freezing cold Friday, I am going to bring my LSU Tigers cushion. My friend said he was bringing his Mississippi State Bulldogs cowbell. I hope this time the number one seed actually wins. Anyways we have to win if we want to have a chance for a rematch with Shannon and Clarksdale. I’m sure our players want that too. I just know our coaches have prepared a winning game plan. Now we have to execute our game plan week end and week out. We have to leave everything on the field.
