This is the third time in three years that these two teams have met in the playoffs. The previous two times West Point has eliminated Oxford in close games. Oxford vows to change that. Home field advantage is very crucial in every round of the playoffs. Oxford fans think they will win if the game was played on their home turf. West Point fans think they will win the game since it is played on our turf. Either way it goes, both teams have to come with their A game and eliminate turnovers and stupid penalties. You know how the saying goes, “The Third Time’s Charm”. Well West Point fans think the defensive effort of the Green Wave will be enough to beat the Oxford Chargers who do not  want to fall victim to West Point in the playoffs for the third consecutive year. West Point has to come out with the same fire power that I’m sure Oxford will come with. Also, we cannot look ahead to a Shannon and Clarksdale rematch. Doing so will alter our focus from the task-at-hand, and that is beating Oxford for the three years straight.

West Point was the number four seed, while Vicksburg was the number one seed. Now the tables have turned. Number four Vicksburg has to travel to number one West Point. I’m sure Vicksburg is looking for revenge, as they were the hands-down favorite in that game.
