Why is this big game so important? Well, the two teams are ranked the highest in men’s basketball. Both teams are in Tennessee–one in western Tennessee and the other in eastern Tennessee. Both are just so happened located in big cities in Tennessee. This is a must see game because it promises to be one of the best so far thus far.
If Memphis wins the game, then they will keep their number one seed and more importantly their perfect season will be intact. If Tennessee wins this game, then they will move up to the number one spot, while it is uncertain where Memphis will drop to. The only way they will plummet is if they lose drastically at home to a team that is ranked lower than them.
Memphis is known for having the worst free throw team in the country and that is when you take into account all the teams that play college basketball in this country. That is irony because the best teams tend to have good free throw shooting. Many predict that if the game is close then Memphis will lose because of their horrid free throw shooting. For most teams free throws are almost guaranteed points while with Memphis it’s missed opportunity after opportunity. They must score enough points away from the free throw line and also they must play solid defense.
One thing is sure and that the viewers at home will see plenty of Memphis Tigers merchandise and Tennessee Volunteers merchandise in the stands as both try to rally their team to victory this Saturday.
